Fourth Part of the Day
Issue 64
I need a hobby. I need something to do in the evenings when everyone is out and about with sports and school. Yes, I picked up a racquet again but when it gets dark I can only scroll so much and watch so many television shows. My four parts need to support this endeavor.
Note, I use Amazon Affiliate links.
First Part
While it isn’t a sustainable hobby, I do know how to shop. I struggle with purchasing when it is a big item. At this time, I’m shopping my sheets for our bed. We need cool feeling sheets but not satin or silk. And we need sheets that are soft. I don’t want to spend $$$$ but I realize I need to spend $$. I’ve seen these recommended by others and think it may be time to try.
Second Part
I love the look of the bandana charm necklaces. I know when I go to Round Top this year, I will see them everywhere. But I can spend my lunch cutting the bandanas and stringing pendants. Putting in an order for these.
Third Part
I’m now following a water colorist, Andrea Nelson, who makes the painting look so simple. Maybe I can pick that up — it seems forgiving and I can make postcards or note cards. She sells these sets and puts up reels with step-by-step instructions.
Fourth Part
If I had to fill out an all-about-me worksheet, I would still write reading and writing as my hobbies. Like all hobbies, you carve out the time, need the focus and find the energy to dive in to what you want to do. Some days and weeks, I’m reading every moment I can. I do write every day but there are productive moments and some not so much. When I’m ‘on’ for both of those it means all the mind and house clutter are cleared. To help me get there, I use the most efficient and effective of techniques and products. Where I fall short are our floors. Yes, I sweep and swiffer mop but I think it’s time to invest in an automatic vacuum and mop combo that I can turn on in the evening and let it get to work. Fresh floors in the morning would be so nice to have.
