Fourth Part of the Day
Issue 57
The idea of the first day of school is creeping into our view. And, while we’ve not done nearly the number of projects I wanted to complete, we have made progress in a few areas. Sold some furniture, bought some pieces, rearranged and have plans for more in the next couple of weeks. But back to school is coming all too quickly. I’ve put some house items purchases on hold to take care of new clothes and shoes. Our four parts are squeezing in the last days of summer and readying as slowly as we can for school.

First Part
Caroline wants a new pair of Birkenstocks for school and while, I’ve never been a fan of the leather versions I saw a pair yesterday that changed my mind. Caroline wants the Mayari that has a wrap around the toe. I’m now looking at this turquoise big buckle Gizeh. Wonder if I could find it in green?
Second Part
I’m wanting a mid-century modern piece for the home office with shelves and drawers to sit under the television and hold all the photo albums and other things we couldn’t fit in our new bookcases. I don’t want to spend $2000 and not even $500 so I’ve resorted to Wayfair and Amazon. I also wander thrift stores in hopes of finding a great piece like my friend Anna always does. Our new Brimnes bookcases came from IKEA and were pretty breezy to put together. I like the lighter slimmer look than what we had before but I’m needing some additional storage — hence the new piece.
Third Part
Kicking back into making dinner because with the school year start upon us, we need food each p.m. Breakfast for dinner is a solid go to but it can be boring so when we make our pancakes, I now include some toppings on the table along with the requisite syrup. Bonne Maman fruit spreads are a favorite and for a brief moment, I believe I’m enjoying a crepe slathered with a berry jam made by a street-cart vendor in Paris.
Fourth Part
We had an evening to go to the movies. The girls went with Gervais and I, and we met up with friends, to watch F1. Aside from Brad Pitt because uh he’s Brad Pitt, go watch this for the F1 of it all. I had no idea why my friends Carina and Rachel loved it so and now I’m all in. OK not really, but I will watch the Netflix Formula One Drive to Survive seriess soon. Oh and there’s also a show titled F1: The Academy about women drivers. Seems I have some shows to watch to end my summer. And, I’m guessing the whole family will be watching with me, too.
